This is a collection of photographs
taken at various times during 21 Course's time at Laverton
Thanks to Ron Clark and Geoff Mayhew for providing these

For 2 years we went to the RMIT as
full time students
Here is a group of Apprentices eagerly
boarding one of the luxury buses to take us to RMIT

RMIT classes weren't always
this much fun

Paul Appleby and Pat Hall
discuss the complexities of a modern oscilloscope. Who was the
Instructor?

At
lunch time we went to the "PX" for lunch. This provided an
opportunity to do "other things " in the
city like visit shops and meet girls.
Do you recognise any of
these faces ?

Waiting for the Buses at RMIT

For
a lot of our first year classes at RMIT we were in an annexe known as Campbells Building on the other side of Victoria St. Here
is Campbells Building
in an earlier time but looking
much the same as it was when we were there. In fact apart from the cars, it
didn’t look much different. In those
days air conditioning
was unheard of, in summer they
opened the windows to let in some air along with the traffic noise and brewery
smells.

Even when we weren't at RMIT
we still needed to study. These blokes were enjoying the rare Melbourne
sunshine.
The one on the right appears to be using an early model cellular phone

It was always a challenge to
find surroundings conducive
to good study

When we weren't studying
there were always shoes to be cleaned. Here is Gronk applying
a spit polish watched by Gareh, Rock Ape and Tom.
Sometimes things got dirty

Dave Nelson

Aw ! c'mon
now fellas. You didn't have to do that.

Occasionally we were able to
relax in our spacious rooms, but only after the washing was
done. This
is Hut 387 Room 13.
Who was the Occupant ?

Schmitty and Morassi

U/S

There were
war games as well. Here is a group ready to take on the world
at Lake Mountain.

Dallas and Errol solving the world’s
problems while at Lake Mountain

There were always ablutions duties to attend to

And some things were more
urgent than others

But most of the time we
managed to have fun, one of the many water fights between 20
and 21 course where all available resources were utilised

In 3rd year drinking was actually
legal under certain conditions
